Text Box: “Willy” is our pet English Sparrow. He was taken out of a nest
in a home that was under construction and given to us during
the summer of 2005. He had not even grown any pin feathers yet!
We fed him on hard dog food soaked in water until he was old enough to
fly away on his own, but he wouldn’t go. So we kept him over the winter.
Now he refuses to go and lives outside in the trees. But he still likes
sitting on your shoulder and living in the house better.
He stays inside during the winter and spends his summers out of doors.
He is very highly intelligent and is quite a perfectionist. He is definitely the boss. You had better mind your manners with Willy or he might let you have a piece of him!

Text Box: “Penelope and P.I.G.” are our pot belly pigs.
They are sisters born from two separate litters.
Penelope was born during a freezing winter and the rest of the litter died.
(Her mother did not know how to care for her babies.)
We warmed her up and raised her on a bottle until she could be weaned.
When she was a few months old, she injured her back legs trying to
squeeze through a closed gate and hasn’t been able to get around the same since.

When P.I.G. was born it was almost the same scenario as before
except her owner was able to rescue the piggies sooner.
After resuscitating the babies, they kept them under a heat lamp and took them
out to nurse every two hours. Finally the mother‘s instincts
kicked in and she continued to care for this litter until they were weaned.
She has successfully raised a litter on her own since then.
